I’ve been here a couple of times and I really like it. The owner, Omar, is warm and friendly. He remembered me even though it had been several months still my last visit. He also seems genuinely concerned about making sure customers are comfortable. During my 1.5 hour brazilian blowout, he checked in with me a couple of times to make sure that I wasn’t bothered by the fumes. He also offered me a beverage and to change the channel on the TV to my preference. It’s not the cheapest brazilian blowout around, particularly given all the Groupons and other deals out there, but it is quality and I find it to be a fantastic value for the price. I would rather pay a bit more (and drive a bit further since I no longer live in WeHo.) to know I am in good hands with Omar and support a small minority-owned business than continue to schelp around checking out all the other deals, which we all know can be totally hit or miss!
Other pros – W is open 7 days a week and Omar is very accommodating about appointment times. Plus, there is a small parking lot in the back (make sure to read the signs on each spot since they are all allocated to different businesses), and plenty of metred parking on the street in front and around the side (2 hrs/$1.50 per hr).
I am completely puzzled as to why reviewers knock on the cleanliness or the fact that there are packages delivered. The place has always been clean during my visits, and yes, well, hair salons that get regular business have to get regular deliveries of product for their customers. It’s not as though the boxes are leaking, in anyone’s way, or pose any other kind of hazard. They are just boxes, people. They don’t bite.
